Public safety is a high stress business, and Elk Grove Village wanted to provide as comfortable a climate as possible for the village's workers. The core of the system is a four-pipe heating and cooling system. This included a 150-ton chiller and 4 condensing boilers to maximize efficency. The 4 condensing boilers provide 3,000,000 BTUs of heat. Along with that we installed the necessary hot and chilled water piping and ductwork.
But that's not all. Not by a long shot. We also furnished and installed a 50,000 cubic foot per minute air handler with plug fans and variable frequency drives. Additionally we installed variable air volume boxes, fan-powered boxes, and the proper duct distribution system to deliver the air throughout this 106,000 square foot building. Oak Brook Mechanical Services, Inc. also installed the chilled and hot water pumps to serve water to the terminal boxes and the air handlers. The building has full DCC controls with CO2 detection for efficency, a 4,000 square foot snow melt system and high efficency MERV 13 filters for clean air.
We also assisted the Village in achieving the coveted Gold Leadership in Engineering and Environmental Design certification based on the LEED requirements.
