Sears Center, Hoffman Estates
One of the Chicago area's newest sports and entertainment venues, The Sears Centre, is an 11,800 seat multi-purpose arena. Oak Brook Mechanical was selected to be involved in the planning stages for the facility. This early involvement enabled us to provide the design and construction to meet all the difficult aspects of maintaining a comfortable environment in the facility with greatly diverse climatic conditions. Maintaining a comfortable environment and provide quality indoor air during ice events, sporting events and concerts with pyrotechnics proved challenging. A facility of this size houses a private club, commercial kitchen, front offices, locker rooms, laundry, green rooms, luxury suites, computer rooms, security offices and a host of specialty areas, each with its own specific environmental requirements.
We consider this an OMS hallmark project. We were successful in providing a facility that can meet every imaginable HVAC requirement and diverse enough in its design and construction to be heated and cooled efficiently when fully occupied and between events.
